Ernst Bormann, Jasta 2, who, with Alfred Lindenberger, shot down Callender and Farquhar on 30 October 1918. Bormann, from Holzminden, was a week short of his 21st birthday, ending the war with 16 victories.

Go straight ahead to the stop sign and turn right. Continue over the stop signs and junctions. At the traffic lights turn right on to the D943 and continue south east through Bouchain. At a T junction turn left on the N30. Pass over the level crossing and turn right on the D74 to Avesnes-le-Sec. In the village follow the D88 to Haspres. Take the second and last turn to the right into a side street and as the road bends to the right turn left and follow the farm track until just past the last house.
